As an advocate for mental health, I’ve created this piece to portray the feeling of helplessness experienced by people suffering from depression and numerous other mental illnesses, and this is shown through the layering of boxes and tangled hair. However, as trapped as one may feel, there is always hope out there, and it may be closer than we think. Such hope is illustrated by the door the girl is sitting on the the hole near her. With this piece, I aim to reiterate the presence of hope in all difficult situations.
